Student Voice and SEND Reform

We were pleased to welcome Kara (pictured) from the National Children’s Bureau into school today.

A small group of our students took part in a discussion session, sharing their experiences of school and SEND support. This conversation forms part of wider national work linked to the proposed SEND reforms.

Students talked openly and thoughtfully about:

✅ what works well for them at school

✅ what can be challenging

✅ what they would like to see improve in the future

Their views will now:

  • be combined with feedback from other young people across the country
  • be written into a national report
  • be shared with the Government to help inform future SEND support

We are incredibly proud of the students who took part. Their confidence, honesty and insight showed just how powerful young people’s voices can be.

Thank you to the National Children’s Bureau for giving our students this valuable opportunity.”
